We're looking for a Cloud Data Architect to join our VA team, designing and owning the technical architecture of an enterprise-scale, multi-cloud data and analytics platform serving thousands of VA users and mission-critical Veteran data.
What you'll be doing: Own and document cloud data architecture across a multi-cloud environment with a primary focus on Azure and Azure Databricks Lead data architecture modernization efforts including migration strategy, data modeling, and platform engineering Design and implement governance, security, and compliance strategies for a platform handling sensitive Veteran PII and PHI Enable data science and AI/ML capabilities on the platform including model deployment infrastructure and data pipelines Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and VA stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and consumable data products Support data ingestion, curation, and interoperability across disparate VA source systems Build and maintain technical architecture documentation, security strategies, and compliance artifacts What you’ll bring: Proven experience designing and managing enterprise cloud data architectures in Azure Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks for data engineering, analytics, and AI/ML workloads Experience with Power BI or similar visualization platforms Familiarity with AWS data services is a plus given the multi-cloud environment Strong background in data governance, security compliance, and federal data standards including FISMA and NIST 800-53 Experience with large-scale data migration and architecture m.
