Comand AI's mission is to build next-generation C2 software with real users in real deployments in the field.
We are fully indexed on the success of every single user, which means the product you ship supports live defence operations, not a benchmark.
You'd join the engineering team to own features end to end, with a strong lean toward the interfaces and workflows clients interact with directly.
This is a product engineering role.
Unlike our Forward Deployed Engineers, you are not embedded with clients or responsible for running deployments in the field.
You turn operational needs and field feedback into a durable core product.
What this looks like in practice:Own end-to-end features on Prevail, our operational planning platform, from scoping and interaction choices through backend implementation and productionSpend significant time on the front end, building clear, reliable workflows for users working with complex information under pressureSolve real geospatial problems: move data between backend and frontend through tile servers and use PostGIS for demanding spatial queriesBuild and harden ML and LLM workflow orchestration, including retries, queueing, and long-running jobs with LangGraph and LangChainDesign for on-prem and appliance deployment, where hardware, connectivity, and resource constraints matter as much as cloud scalabilityWork closely with product, design, and forward-deployed teams to turn user signal into features that work across clientsWho We're Looking ForWe filter hardest on mission drive, low ego, attention to detail, and first-principles problem solving.
We want builders who can move across the stack while keeping the user-facing experience sharp.
Must-have:Strong full-stack production experience, with genuine comfort owning both interfaces and backend systemsSolid TypeScript and React, plus Python experience or the ability to become productive quickly with FastAPIA track record of taking features from an ambiguous problem through release and i.
